Random Thursday List

Happy Thursday! Here's a list of random crafty stuff from me...

1. Somerset Memories

Somerset Memories has requested four layouts from me! I'm very excited as it's one of my favorite magazines.

2. Circle Scarf Class at The City Quilter

Twoscarvessm

I taught my very first quilting class at The City Quilter on Sunday. It was a lovely group of women and I'm pleased to share that it went extremely well! On the left is the original scarf and on the right is a variation I made in a leaf shape. I also made a quilted necklace using the same technique (I'll have to take a photo at some point)! Anyway, the class went so well...

3. New Class: Ribbon Cuff

...that I'll be teaching a new class on February 22 from 12-6pm! It's the ribbon cuff pictured below:

Here's the description:

Ribbon Cuff with Julie Fei-Fan Balzer

Learn multiple techniques while creating a piece of wearable art. Using water-soluble fabric, students will create this gorgeous cuff from ordinary ribbon and fiber. We will embellish the cuff with felt, fabric, machine stitching, hand stitching. and lots and lots of beads! We will explore color and design along the way. Instruction in thread painting, basic embroidery, and bead embellishment will be given. Basic knowledge of sewing machine required.

4. Ribbon Cuff Commission

I was recently commissioned to make one of these ribbon cuffs by a very talented scrapbooking friend as a gift for her sister.

On the left is the commissioned cuff and on the right is the cuff seen flattened out in the photo above this one.

5. My Creative Classroom

There is still plenty of time to sign up for my My Creative Classroom classes. Check them out if you get a chance! I also opened a free classroom on that site and every month there will be a free technique or project!

6. Craft Critique

Be sure to check out my alphabet rub-on comparision article on Craft Critique today! And, I'll be sure to re-post it here in the next week or two.

I think that's about all for now! Have a great Thursday!
