Thank you so much to everyone who left me a comment, looking for a little "junque" in their lives! Totally overwhelming response! I have contacted all the winners by e-mail and look forward to sending out the boxes and seeing what you create! I'm sure I'll unearth some more treasures to send out before this packing is through.
As an FYI, the big move date is Wednesday. So, I'm not sure how much blogging there will be either before or after. We'll see how traumatic it all is.
To answer a few questions left in the comments recently:
Q: Where are you moving to?
A: Staying in midtown Manhattan. Can't leave this place! But, upgrading to an apartment with an enormous (1026 square feet) terrace. It will be my first NYC apartment with any outdoor space and I am stoked! This means I can use spray paint and all sorts of "outdoor only" craftiness! If you're not a New Yorker, you might not get the *amazing-ness* of such a large outdoor space. Personally, I never thought I'd live in an apartment with this kind of space. I'm shocked and happy and just super excited! The terrace is as large as the apartment! Maybe bigger.
Q: Where was the sale on art supplies?
A: Lee's Art Shop on 57th St. I love their selection. I also love that they have fine art supplies right next to crafty supplies. And they have a small scrapbooking section (NYC prices, though - Thickers are like $6.99). The staff is really nice and helpful and I never leave without buying something.
Q: When can we get your paper in the U.S.?
A: I am sad to share that it doesn't look like it will happen. I have to admit that I have a big box of it here and I'm thinking about selling it through Etsy or something, but I'll have to figure out the logistics of all that.
Today, I am taking this class...
...from Lynne Perrella. I am so unbelievably excited about it! She's an artist whom I've admired for a long time. I'm totally stressing over the supply list and worrying that I don't have everything I'm going to need. Aaaaargh! It's my first class at The Ink Pad and I'm very curious about what the space is going to be like. The store is teeny tiny. You always feel like you're going to bump stuff off the shelves. But the class is held at a different location. Hmmmm...I'm excited...!!!
Finally, I love this quote from Miles Davis:
"I'm always thinking about creating. My future starts when I wake up every morning... Every day I find something creative to do with my life."
Amen.
Thanks for stopping by!
