I made two layouts using some of InfoCrea's gorgeous papers! I've been fascinated by all the layouts I've been seeing recently that are divided down the middle. So, I decided to try my hand at halving the layout to see what would happen.
I used the Baigneuses Nostalgie Collection on this one:
It's a very straightforward division. I even a glued a strip of paper down the center of the layout. The title is hand painted:
And I made some of those accordion fold flowers that are so popular right now:
Between you and me they're an enormous pain to make. Simple, but they take way too long. But, hey they are pretty and a girl has to try new things, right?
I used the AMAZING Giverny Collection on this layout:
I love this line of paper. It is just so stunning! The colors, the patterns -- it's just perfect. The division here is still clear, but a little more artsy fartsy. I raised some circles onto pop dots:
And I painted a little glass with gesso:
Both of these layouts came together quickly and easily. After playing with the idea of designing a layout with a split right down the middle, I can tell you that it is a simple solution for great design. You simply put your photos on one side and a block of paper of equal visual weight on the other side. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
And as a side note, I want to wish my Father a very Happy Birthday! This layout of the two of us is an oldie, but a goodie:
