These lovely ladies (L to R: Julie McGuffee, Jo Pearson, Kathy Kromer) were fantastic company for a crazy first day on the set of the new PBS TV show, Scrapbook Soup! Julie is my co-host (yes, we're Julie & Julie) and Jo and Kathy were *amazing* guests. The projects today were jaw droppingly awesome. Like nothing you're expecting -- lots and lots and LOTS of gesso! Mixed media projects left and right! A ton of paint, doodling, and collage, along with image transfers, jewelry projects and so much more! You are going to love, love, love, love all the creativity in this first season! It's only day one and I'm super psyched! (P.S. If you don't get the series -- and even if you do -- you will be able to purchase a DVD of the season!)
I thought I'd share a few behind-the-scenes photos. Here are some I took in my apartment early last week when I was in the midst of show prep:
Every time I do TV spots I prep a little bit differently and this year I finally got it down to a science, baby! Each project got its own bag. Title of project in green tape. Additional items not bagged that will be needed for the segment are in blue. (These are usually shared common supplies like a paintbrush, black marker, etc.) And finally, any "to dos" were noted in bright orange tape. This orange tape was really helpful as the week started to swirl into madness. It helped keep me on schedule!
Once at the studio...
...there are dozens and dozens of boxes to unpack and organize!
Each project gets a tray...
...and then the trays get carried into the studio...
...for each segment. (How do you like that hot pink set, huh?)
I'm exhausted. Happy. Learned a lot about hosting. Some of it the hard way. But I'll get better. Tomorrow is another day!
Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. I've got some BIG HUGE news to share. So excited!
