I'm so pleased to be the guest designer for Once Upon a Sketch this month! Once Upon a Sketch is a challenge blog that mixes journaling and sketches. From their site:
Do you find you are not including as much journaling on your projects as you used to? Are you the type that needs to include journaling on ALL your projects? Maybe you are not sure on what to write about and just leave it out. Whatever your story, we hope that here at Once Upon A...Sketch we encourage you and inspire you to journal more on your projects...I say project because you are free to create a layout, card, art journal, digital layout...whatever you can use the sketch and criteria for. On the 1st and 15th of every month, we will release a brand new sketch accompanied with some journaling criteria which you will have about 2 weeks to complete.
Here is the sketch:
And the journaling criteria: Write 2 noteworthy (to you anyway) events of the past week.
So here's the layout I made:
I'm in a semi clean-and-simple phase right now. Especially on layouts where the focus is the journaling, I like to keep it pretty unadorned.
These woodgrain alphas are a Studio Calico/American Crafts exclusive and I love, love, love them!
I used the "Julie's Words to Live By" stamp set to help prompt my journaling. They really made writing a lot very very easy!
And I love taking photos with the camera in my computer. It's the easiest way I know of getting a self-portrait.
I'll have a full report on my Canadian weekend for you tomorrow!
Thanks for stopping by!
