My new stencils are here! Eeek!
I got home to NYC just a few hours ago, but instead of unpacking, I had to play with a few of the stencils. I mean, a girl has to have priorities, right?
I decided to make a little tiny book out of a scrap of leftover Fabriano watercolor paper (my new fave) that was sitting on my desk begging to become something lovely. And I did it all using my favorite Sakura supplies!
The Sakura Pigma Micron is one of my favorite black pens. It's archival pigment ink (doesn't bleed when wet) and comes in lots and lots of tip sizes. I used the .01 for the whole book.
I covered a few of the pages with black gesso and went to town with the Sakura Moonlight pens. They are super fab on dark surfaces!
Here you can see the same stencil two ways -- once with the Moonlight pens all colored in, and once simply outlined with the Pigma Micron. I love both versions!
I used the Sakura Glaze pens for the heart. You can see the shine and dimensionality on them. Isn't it cool? Plus those dots that look white? Not. They were made on white paper with a clear Glaze pen. Then I used watercolor over them and the Glaze Pen resisted the watercolor!
This is one of my favorites of the new stencils. I'm currently trying to figure out just how many things I can put peacock feathers on! I'm thinking everything is a good start.
While the new stencils won't be available until after CHA, I can offer you a fun little giveaway of Sakura goodies!
If you'd like to win a set of Sakura's Moonlight Pens, Pigma Microns, and Glaze Pens, simply leave a comment answering the following question:
What's your favorite pen(s) to doodle with?
Just a reminder: To be eligible to win, you must post your comment in the comment section of this blog post. You cannot post on Facebook or by replying to the e-mail (if you subscribe) in your inbox. The reason for this is that I pick a winner via "random number generator" so I need a single list of comments.
Thanks for stopping by!
