Since Christmas I've been keeping my hands busy with a large stitching project. I've been sharing progress photos on instagram, some of which I included in this "Weekend Five" blog post. I work on my embroidery in fits and starts -- mostly while traveling or during TV time.
Here's what it looks like right now:
- DMC 6-strand embroidery floss (I divide it and stitch with 2 strands at a time.)
- Embroidery scissors
- Mechanical Pencil (This is how I mark the design as I go.)
- Needle Case
Here's what it looks like out of the hoop:
I'm a self-taught embroider, so I don't always do things the "right" way. But, I'm enjoying it and that's really the point isn't it? I've got a long ways to go before it's done, but I don't mind. I really enjoy the process of hand stitching. It's very meditative.
I'll be sure to share pictures when I'm finished...in about a million years. ;)
Thanks for stopping by!
