If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here. All of the previous posts can be found archived here. Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day! No need to finish anything or even like it. If you've done some art journaling this week, use the hashtag #artjournaleveryday so that we can all take a peek. Even if you're not on social media, you can see everything (from twitter, pinterest, instagram, and facebook) that uses that hashtag here.
Today I am going to show you all the pages I did in June. It's not a lot.
This first page features an image I cut out from a magazine. It was such a powerful image and I knew I needed it to be a part of my journal.
Every now and then I paint the background of an art journal spread with black gesso. For this particular spread, I couldn't bear to cover up the entire background, so I left a small circle of it alone and then did some lettering around that area:
One of the things I try to do with lettering is have what I'm saying reflected in the lettering style. I think this one works well.
I know that we're all looking for the absolute perfect white pen. I find that it's nice to have a wide variety of white pens/markers/crayons around with varying opacities and tip widths. You can see in the flower above that they can be combined to create something far better than a single white pen could!
Some of the whites I use:
These next two pages were made around the time I got my new stencils and you can see my excitement and enthusiasm in getting to play with them!
This is my Julie's Words stencil.
And my Bird Gathering stencil.
I probably overuse these alphabet Art Foamies, but I love them!
Do you have a favorite stencil or two that you find yourself using on every page?
Thanks for stopping by!
