This is a super fun and easy project to do and a wonderful gift to give! I found the idea on instagram via 5.min.crafts. Essentially, the cubes flip to reveal the various images:
While I was making it, I struggled a lot. The instructions in the 5.min.crafts video are a bit on the light side. I made a bunch of mistakes along the way. BUT, when it finally turned out, I fell in love with it. AND, I figured I'd make a detailed instructional video so that you could make one for yourself quickly and easily and avoid all of the mistakes that I made! Yay!
Watch the video to see the blocks in action (much better than still photos) and to learn how to make one yourself:
- wooden blocks
- 8 photos printed on regular copy paper (trust me: I tried photo paper and it was a disaster)
- full coverage adhesive
- craft knife
In the video I used stamped images instead of photos. You could also use patterned paper or quotes. You could do this for a birthday, Mother's Day, Father's Day, an anniversary, or just for fun!
I hope you'll give this project a try!
Happy Valentine's Day!
