100 days already?! It seems impossible and yet, I'm done with my 100 Day Project. Here are the last five layered monoprints for my 100 Day Project (These images are embedded from instagram. If you can't see them, click HERE.): Some thoughts: I have said it several times and it's true: this has been the easiest 100 Day Project yet. I think there are two reasons: The biggest is that I was not traveling for 95% of the project. The second is that gelatin printing is such a versatile and addictive process. I never ran out of ideas or steam... Read more →

100 Days of Gelatin Printing: Days 87-95

Only 5 days left in this 100 day odyssey. Crazy. This is the first 100 Day Project I've done that hasn't felt onerous at some point. I can't decide if it's the topic or the fact that I've been home for 99% of the days of the challenge? I'm not sure. In any case, here are my most recent layered monoprints for my 100 Day Project (These images are embedded from instagram. If you can't see them, click HERE.): FYI: Due to Pass The Brush I'll be delaying posting day 96 on instagram until Saturday, which means you'll get a... Read more →

100 Days of Gelatin Printing: Days 80-86

I had such a fantastic experience teaching my live online gelatin printing class on Sunday. It really renewed my energy for this 100 day project. In fact, I've only got 14 days left (wow) and so I've been thinking about how/if I might extend/build/grow this little printing endeavor. I have some ideas, but I'm going to have to marinate on it for a little while longer. In the meantime, here are my most recent layered monoprints for my 100 Day Project (These images are embedded from instagram. If you can't see them, click HERE.): Gelatin printing is deeply addictive. It... Read more →

I have fallen down a rabbit hole of nature printing and I loooooove it! Here are my most recent layered monoprints for my 100 Day Project (These images are embedded from instagram. If you can't see them, click HERE.): These nature prints are some of my all time favorites. I'm really loving printing with leaves and sticks and flowers and everything that I can pull up out of my backyard. I'm already looking around my neighborhood for different shapes and textures than the ones I can pull out of my own lawn! My live online Gelatin Printing for Beginners class... Read more →

100 Days of Gelatin Printing: Days 59-65

Hey friends! Here are my most recent layered monoprints for my 100 Day Project (These images are embedded from instagram. If you can't see them, click HERE.): I was feeling a little bit lost at the beginning of this week in prints. But now that I've brought some leaves into the house, I feel reinvigorated and excited. I'm really enjoying working with all the plant matter. It's making my brain have to think differently and I looooove that! I'm more than half way through this project and I still haven't tried all of the gelatin printing techniques that I want... Read more →

100 Days of Gelatin Printing: Days 52-58

Here are my seven most recent layered monoprints for my 100 Day Project (These images are embedded from instagram. If you can't see them, click HERE.): I didn't realize how similar days 56 & 57 were until I saw them here side-by-side. It's interesting because I actually made them several days apart. I took a few days off from gelatin printing in order to focus on some other priorities. And yet, they could have been made on the same day with the same ideas. Isn't that crazy? Totally unintentional and yet so close to being identical in composition and form.... Read more →

100 Days of Gelatin Printing: Days 43-51

A little bit more than half way through this 100 day challenge! I have to confess that I looooove being home. I hate the isolation, the fear, the inability to go places and visit people, but I love waking up in my own bed every day. It has certainly made this the easiest 100 day challenge I've ever tried. Traveling is not good for regular art making. In any case, here is the week in layered monoprints (These images are embedded from instagram. If you can't see them, click HERE.): I'm definitely entering some kind of grungy phase. I find... Read more →

100 Days of Gelatin Printing: Days 36-42

I'm finding it pretty easy to keep up with this 100 Day Challenge. I think there are a few reasons for it: I'm not traveling. I'm home every day. So that makes it sooooo much easier to make art every single day. Even with a baby. I looooove gelatin printing. Doing anything you love makes for an easier journey. Gelatin printing is both finite and expansive. On the one hand, the process is pretty finite. You put stuff on the plate. You print. On the other hand, there's all sorts of stuff you can put on the plate. All kinds... Read more →
