I have to tell you, they're doing construction on my building and I think the jack hammering for hours every single day might truly make me insane. So if you notice me pulling my hair out, that's why. This past weekend, the Empire Quilters (Manhattan's Quilting Guild) held the Urban Inspirations Quilt Show. I've got some hybrid layouts for you today! Using two fabulous digital kits from Sugarplum Paperie. Now, as I've probably mentioned before, I don't have a large format printer. I just have my regular 8.5x11" ink jet printer. So, I always have to get a little creative turning the 8.5x11" digital print out into a 12x12 paper layout. It's no secret that I love and adore paint. However, I really found myself unable to stay away from the brushes when I put together my layouts for Right At Home Scrapbooking this month. What a fabulous kit from Label Tulip this month! One of my faves! Here's what I did with it.... We Went to See Art.... I built this page in layers: I used glue dots to adhere paper circles and some cellophane packaging to the background. I machine stitched over the background. I painted the entire background with gesso, leaving some areas with a thin coat and others with a thick coat.
