I was so struck by this...

...art journal page by one of my absolute FAVORITE art journalers, Judy Wise.  I'm hoping to take a class with her someday soon.  I keep peeking at her teaching schedule and hoping that the stars will align.

In the meantime, I've been playing in my art journal and thought I'd share a few photos:

I've taken to pre-creating backgrounds and carrying my art journal in my purse.  Then, while I'm waiting for the bus or sitting on a bench somewhere, I just pull it out and start writing.
