Art Journaling Bits And Pieces
December 30, 2009
I've started a new project. A daily art journal. I've been doing it for a few weeks now. And I wanted to share some of my favorite bits and pieces:
My very favorite face so far. I still make the eyes too big, but I'm getting better (and faster)!
I'm obsessed with this tulip shape. That's a stamp I carved and I love it! I can't stop stamping it on absolutely everything!
I'm going to have to do this on a scrapbook layout. A painted frame with a photo stuck on top. I love the look!
Butterflies seemed rather perfect for the statement: powerful but delicate.
Sassafras Lass scraps, a bit of Prima paper, and a skinny outline of a heart cut from a book page are the base of this little piece. I painted over things with gesso and watercolor crayons and stamped over them with Archival ink.
I'm loving using punchinella as a stencil (the red dots) and collaging leftover bits of paper everywhere!
And now, a host of Christmas images from more recent days:
I've been using a nib pen a lot lately. Not loving this particular brand of india ink (notice how it's not waterproof -- smudgy writing in the tree), but I bought some new ink the other day that I've been much happier with!
I'm in love, in love, in love with the yellow tape on the right side. I bought it at Dick Blick and I can't stop putting it on stuff. (And yes, that does say "breakfast cannoli." My husband went out exploring one morning and came back with cannolis from a local bakery. We decided that you have to eat cannolis right away, regardless of the time of day, otherwise they get soggy. A sound decision. Plus, I got to play with the twine!)
Thanks for stopping by!
