Tim Holtz and the 12 Tags of Christmas: Day 6
Day 8 of the Tag Saga

Prima's December BAP

This month's sketch is built for a single photo:

And the Prima Flower Girls were challenged to create a layout based on this sketch, but using another designer's headshot!  Eeek!  Totally fun!  It was all done anonymously, so it wasn't until the pages were revealed on the Prima blog yesterday that we knew who had who!  I was given the amazing Tracie Hudson's headshot.  I've not yet had the pleasure of meeting Tracie in real life.  So, I spent some time reading her blog in order to get to know her.  And here's my page about her:

And here's a detail shot of some of those little flowers and leaves:

And Iris Babao-Uy (an amazing scrapper) scrapped my photo.  Here's what she came up with:

So totally cool, right?

And now without any further ado, tag #7 from Mr. Holtz:

And my version:

Had some mojo issues on this one.  Urgh.  But I just pushed through regardless.  Here are the details:

Once again, no circular metal tag in my stash.  And when I tried to fake up a few things, they just didn't vibe with the rest of the tag.  So I ended up folding this Prima flower in half and stapling it to the top of the tag.  I had previously distressed it, so it was a quick and easy solution!

I don't own any gold embossing powder.  I debated whether it was the gold color or the embossing that was important to the tag and in the end, you can see I chose the gold color.  So that's paint.

This frame stamp is what I used to make my mask (see Tim's instructions, if you're confused).  I added orange Distress Stickles around the edge of the frame and typed a sentiment in the center of the frame.  But I wanted to obscure the sentiment a bit, so I sprayed some homemade Glimmer Mist over it several times (to intensify the color).

Finally, this has been quite the week for good news!  Found out that I'm a winner over here.

Thanks for stopping by!
