Friday I Love You
April 30, 2010
I am *so* ready for the weekend. So, so, so very ready!
Tomorrow is National Scrapbooking Day. Be sure to come back tomorrow for a step-by-step tutorial on how to make this layout:
I did the tutorial using photos and written instructions instead of video. I don't know, which do you like better? I feel like with a video it is easier to understand what's going on, but there's a lot of sitting around, so sometimes I just want instructions. Opinions?
Also, I bought a necklace at Anthropologie which turned out to be painfully pokey.
It's made from woven plastic or something like that and all those little plastic bits are very painful. Unfortunately, when I tried it on in the store I was wearing a thick sweater, so I didn't realize it. But I'm a crafty gal, so I decided to just glue some felt to the backs of each of the disks.
It is such an easy solution and what a difference!
Finally, I wanted to share a simple solution for keeping project bits and pieces in one place:
An old cookie sheet is a great way to keep all of those little pieces and tools together. This is all jewelry stuff, but you could definitely throw embellishments or fabric or paints or paper or whatever else in there. And for those who work in a multi-use space (dining room, bedroom, etc.), you can put some tinfoil or saran wrap over the top when it needs to go away and then stick it on a shelf, under a couch, wherever!
I used that cookie sheet in the crafty jewelry class I taught a few weeks ago. We made lots of fun stuff, like these earrings:
