Kenner Road: April Reveal!
April 15, 2010
April's Kenner Road kit is loaded with fun (and probably my favorite kit to date)! Here's what I made:
"An Act of Lunacy"
My Mom snapped this photo of the me and the hubs and I knew that I had to scrap it! Although hilariously, our skin colors are so different (he's red-ish and I'm yellow-ish) that I had to make it black and white or we just looked bizarre.
Best. Stamp. Ever. Seriously! How awesome is this set of tiny alpha banner stamps? Yum, yum, yum! (And you don't even have to buy a kit to get it, it's just $5.75 for sale in the Kenner Road store!) A big surprise from the kit was all the We R Memory Keepers stuff, which I *loved*. There isn't a lot of internet buzz about them. I think I even missed their booth at CHA, but I really loved the paper and embellishments that are in this kit. That striped paper above is from them.
I used my free motion foot to stitch up some flower stems. I wasn't sure whether or not to put the flowers and stems over the journaling, but the page was too naked without them. In the end, I think it was a really good decision. I love the way it looks.
"Bathroom Photo Shoot No. 28671"
Spray, spray, spray, spray! I used the Pink Paislee frames from the kit as masks and just sprayed my heart out. I've got Maya Mist, Adirondack Color Wash, and Glimmer Mist on this layout! Talk about a spray orgy!
Love, love, love these huge chipboard letters! I put them on the layout to represent the idea of a series of photos being taken. My husband said he didn't get it. Sigh.
I love these little letters. Printed them right out of my computer!
"We Three"
This layout came about because I was on the phone and doodled this:
I wanted to recreate the flowers in paper. And so, I did.
I used an edge distresser on some of the papers and separated the layers with foam adhesive.
"when i create"
I kind of love this layout. It's odd and wonky and took forever to make. I liked the chipboard tags and frames, but I didn't like the sentiments. So I painted over them! I also painted in the centers of the Pink Paislee frames. Take a closer look below:
All in all an amazing kit, with some truly fabulous surprises. Lots of products I wouldn't have bought for myself and ended up loving.
