Studio Tour: Part Three
April 23, 2010
Today's post is a continuation of my studio tour. This is the final installment, part three!
Here is the largest set of drawers in the room.
This is what is behind me when I sit at the "play" desk and to my left when I sit at the "work" desk. You can see the printer and scanner up on top of the drawers. I also store frequently accessed things like...
...Distress Ink pads (labeled with color for ease)...
...and file folders full of paper scraps. They're filed by color, of course.
The shelves above are full of books, albums, and all of my non-Prima paper.
On the other side of the room is the cutting area.
The top shelf is full of my theatre stuff. The bottom shelf is all quilting all the time - stabilizers, batting, and even a fun pincushion!
Cutting mat for cutting fabric on the left and Genesis Trimmer on the right. Behind the trimmer you can see my rotary cutter, fabric only scissors, and quilt rulers. Along the far left of the photo is a drawer unit that hold stamps.
And to the left of that is a short drawer unit with a Clip It Up on top.
I use my Clip It Up to hold my fat quarters and other small units of fabric. The top part of the Clip It Up holds fabric related tools like foil, texture plates, and Angelina fibers.
The drawers below it are, unsurprisingly, full of fabric.
Every time I go to the quilt store I tell myself that I don't need any more fabric. But I ignore myself. The funny thing is, I purge my stash of stuff every 3-6 months and give boxes of stuff away. But I just keep finding new stuff to buy!
Well, that's it! I hope you enjoyed this peek into my "happiest place on earth." It's certainly not a showplace. No pretty cabinets or beautiful wall displays full of art. But, it's fully functional and there's nowhere I'd rather be than in my studio making a big mess! As always, let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks for stopping by!
