CREATE Retreat: Student Showcase
August 30, 2010
Wow! The CREATE Student Showcase was absolutely fantastic! Take a wander through all the amazing stuff that the students created over the week:
(The canvas is by a student who was in my Painted Face Canvas class. She didn't finish before the class was over, so this was my first chance to see the finished painting of her two sons!)
(This was a fabulous, amazing, enormous canvas that Judy Coates Perez painted in Alisa Burke's class.)
(Can I tell you how much I love this herringbone text? Genius idea!)
(The two pages above and the one below are student work from my "Paint Stitch Tape" class. They turned out so great!)
(Um, painted matches!?! How fun is that?!)
(The textiles above and below are from a class with Melanie Testa, who lives in Brooklyn - yay for another NYC gal! She's teaching a class at The Ink Pad in September, which I wish I could go to, but I'm teaching at The City Quilter on the same day!)
(I love the bold way she shaded in the face above. That's also from my Painted Face Canvas class.)
After seeing all the student work, I now have a list of classes a mile long that I can't wait to take next time! How about you? See anything you like?
Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. My Mom and I headed from Chicago to Cleveland today.
And while we sat in the airport for five hours we discussed the fact that it would have been a lot more fun to drive from Chicago to Cleveland than fly. Can anyone say roadtrip?
Nevertheless, we managed to still have some fun!
We're here in Cleveland to tape two episodes of Quilting Arts TV. And I will be sure to blog all about it!
Talk to you soon!
