Donna Downey for Prima: CHA Summer-2010
August 05, 2010
I love and adore Donna Downey's canvas products for Prima.
I took a canvas sheet of hers and turned it into this cute little elephant:
I based it on a pattern by Heather Bailey. Though, I had to make a few modifications because this particular canvas has been treated to be extremely stiff and paper like. That's great for die cutting or scrapbooking, but stitching it into something 3-D was, to put it politely, an enormous pain in the ass.
I also played with one of her new canvas purse albums. Check it out:
Lots of stamping, stenciling, and painting! AND I'm happy to report that I'm going to be teaching this album on Live With Prima on August 23 at 8pm EST! It's going to be a power packed two hours, so don't miss it!
Finally, I want to share this adorable little mini tote bag that I've been calling a "favor bag." It's completely un-"me" but it still makes my inner girly-girl squeal a little!
The bag itself is not from Donna's line of canvas, but the lining is:
Isn't that birdcage fabric divine? I inserted it into the pre-made tote bag, folded over the edges, and then hand stitched them down. I think it's a super cute and unexpected added touch, don't you?
I've got two more canvas albums coming at you this week (or maybe next, there's just too much to share)! I can't wait to hear what you think!
Thanks for stopping by!
