Hambly Guest Designer: Part Three

Hambly Guest Designer: Part Two

Day two of my Hambly Guest Design gig.  I've got some scrapbook layouts and a blank journal for you.

BabyBandit-sm
Lots of layers of paper, vellum, and transparencies make up the background.  (Thanks go to my brother for taking these photos.)

I used a combination of regular straight stitches and this fun "star" decorative stitch.

I painted the border on the journaling spot and the title is hand cut.

Colorful-sm
Lots more hand cut letters.

ColorfulDetail2-sm
Both these little letters and the big "colorful" are hand cut.

I reverse painted part of the flower transparency.  I love the way it turned out!

I was at a crop and my friend Louise was playing with some fabric circles.  She had an idea for putting them together with the raw edges facing up.  I was intrigued by that idea and ran with it.

Each of these circle-ish shapes is made from four scalloped circles.  The edges are simply folded where they touch.  And each butterfly is popped up on two layers of foam adhesive.  It creates a lot of nice dimension.

I used pink to draw the eye into the center of the layout.  The title is hand cut.

Together-sm
I think this may be my favorite layout.

TogetherDetail1-sm
Printed vellum makes for such a great ruffle.  I put it right over the bottom of the photo.

TogetherDetail2-sm
These are gold printed transparencies reverse painted with black paint and popped up on foam adhesive.

I inked the edge of the journaling space with Distress Ink.  The splats are acrylic paint.  And the title was airbrushed with the Copic airbrushing system.

And here's the journal made from washi tape and tons of Hambly scraps:

The cover is made from one of those "clearly heavy" overlays that Hambly has. Man, those things are awesome!  Wish I had a million of them to play with!

You can see that I sewed the pages into the book in three signatures.  And now here are a few samples of what the inside looks like:

Transparencies, paper, vellum...and all of it stuck together with washi tape!  I can't wait to put some photos inside this bad boy!  I'm thinking of keeping it super simple and putting a single 4x6 print with a border on each page.  And then I'd write my journaling on the border.  Totally simple and easy.

I'll have part three of the Hambly madness tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by!
