I'm away in France for 10 days. While I'm gone, I have a whole bunch of fun posts for you. Here is today's.... New sketch up over at Pencil Lines! Really cool and unique sketch, right? Here's what I did with it: Check out the details: I used my beloved chevron stamps. And I stitched several miscellaneous strips along the left side. I'm really liking the way it looks. Definitely something I'm going to do again! After some misting and inking I used black watercolor to create the large circle and little swirls. The circles are layers of patterned paper... I'm away in France for 10 days. While I'm gone, I have a whole bunch of fun posts for you. Here is today's.... This is what my desk looks like at the moment: What a mess! I would show you the floor, but it's so much worse...you can barely walk without stepping on something. Eeek! I continue my infatuation with the new collection "O délices d'Alice" from InfoCrea. I created the large photo collage in Photoshop, but printed it in 4x6 strips (since that's the size of printer I have). Hand painted title, cut out and stitched down. The flower... Read more →

I'm away in France for 10 days. While I'm gone, I have a whole bunch of fun posts for you. Here is today's.... I often get asked about my scrapbook page making process. So I figured I'd go through the basics of how my brain works! My first decision: what to use? I decided to do a layout for one of my monthly Prima assignments. So now I know that everything I use will be Prima. Easy enough. But what to do? My husband and I had a conversation the night before I made the layout about kindness. Aha! What... Read more →

I'm away in France for 10 days. While I'm gone, I have a whole bunch of fun posts for you. Here is today's.... I can hardly believe that it's already week four of the Sizzix Blog Hop! This week we were challenged to use the Frame and Frame Back with Stand die. Here are the pieces I received cut from white matboard: Here's the example from the Sizzix website: And here's what I made: I sparked up the frame with some gesso, glue, and paint to create the look you see here. Here's a closer peek: I love the antique... Read more →

I'm away in France for 10 days. While I'm gone, I have a whole bunch of fun posts for you. Here is today's.... Day three of Julie's-admiration-knows-no-bounds and today we'll be looking at some of my favorite "classic" scrapbookers. These are girls who create with straight edges, beautiful layers, and lots of delicious details! They're the girls most likely to be in a magazine. They've got that classic look that never goes out of style! Name: Christine Middlecamp Blog: Retrospection In My Opinion: She is the queen of layering. I bow down to her genius. Every layout she creates demands... Read more →

I'm away in France for 10 days. While I'm gone, I have a whole bunch of fun posts for you. Here is today's.... Continuing yesterday's post full of admiration, I wanted to share some scrapbookers I love who rock the little bits of paper! These girls can do so much with so little. It's amazing, I tell you! Name: Wilna Furstenberg Blog: My he{art} In My Opinion: Nobody makes repeated elements look as good as Wilna. Her handwriting is amazing. Her sense of design is perfection. And I love how she always lets everything be a little bit not straight!... Read more →

I'm away in France for 10 days. While I'm gone, I have a whole bunch of fun posts for you. Here is today's.... There are so many talented scrapbookers out there. I wanted to share a few that I love and admire. Here is a roundup of the messy, painty, misty, and super duper creative scrapbookers whom I just can't get enough of: Name: Dina Wakley Blog: Ponderings In My Opinion: She's the queen of clever and creative pages that mix acrylic paint and machine stitching. Her misting is always fabulous and her handwriting makes me jealous. I love her... Read more →

I am totally charmed with the new collection "O délices d'Alice" from InfoCrea. Beautiful papers and awesome overlays! I love the intense colors. I had a lot of fun using alcohol inks on the leaf transparency. Love the deep colors and the way the transparency intensifies them. I dug deep into my stash to unearth that plastic spotted heart. I *think* it's KI Memories from 100 years ago! So glad that it finally found a home on this layout! The measuring tape seemed perfect for this layout about big-ness. Love the huge letters from Pink Paislee. The button wrapped in... Read more →

That's right! It's week three of the Sizzix blog hop! This week we received a collection of flower parts -- all part of the Beauty Bloom die. The pieces I received were cut from four different materials: felt, fabric, cardstock, and burlap. Here's the example of the assembled die from the Sizzix website: And here's what I put together: Maybe I've been working for Prima for too long, but flowers just seem to belong on scrapbook layouts, you know? Check out the details: I typed up my journaling and then painted the bracket shape around it and cut it out.... Read more →
