Everyone Loves a Classic
November 24, 2010
I'm away in France for 10 days. While I'm gone, I have a whole bunch of fun posts for you. Here is today's....
Day three of Julie's-admiration-knows-no-bounds and today we'll be looking at some of my favorite "classic" scrapbookers. These are girls who create with straight edges, beautiful layers, and lots of delicious details! They're the girls most likely to be in a magazine. They've got that classic look that never goes out of style!
Name: Christine Middlecamp
Blog: Retrospection
In My Opinion: She is the queen of layering. I bow down to her genius. Every layout she creates demands a closer look. Layers of delicious goodies arranged oh-so-perfectly!
Name: Keisha Campbell
Blog: A Bit East
In My Opinion: Where have I been that I only stumbled on Keisha Campbell recently?! I found her through the Jenni Bowlin blog, but she's all over the place! Her layouts always feature really interesting graphic choices (i.e. fantastic and unique design). And I so admire the way she uses and features embellishments.
Name: Kelly Purkey
Blog: It's Me, KP
In My Opinion: Kelly rocks the stamps and the two-pagers. Also her use of cardstock (like the tone-on-tone example above) is simply stellar! She manages to do clean, colorful pages that are fascinating to look at. And she always tells a story with with her journaling and photos.
Name: Danielle Flanders
Blog: Homespun with Heart
In My Opinion: I think that Danielle is the next big thing. She is already a scrapbook star, but she's going to be a superstar! She is seriously amazing and puts together a million "perfect" layouts. Her pages always have a great use of color, a smart mixture of patterns, and a little detail somewhere that is surprising, but so relatable.
Name: Elizabeth Kartchner
Blog: Dear Lizzy
In My Opinion: Elizabeth sort of snuck up on me. The more I see of her work in Creating Keepsakes Magazine, the more I admire her. She pulls together feminine, sweet pages with tons of details and lovely design. She mixes and matches patterned paper and works with extremely bold patterns in magical ways.
Name: Lisa Truesdell
Blog: The Moments in Between
In My Opinion: It's Lisa's design that always makes me look twice. She makes really interesting choices and knows how to show off embellishments like few other scrappers. I find that her layouts are the ones that the more you look at, the more you love them.
Name: Gigi Kennedy
Blog: Little G
In My Opinion: Gigi creates distinctly feminine, deceptively simple layouts. She's partial to flowers and vintage and clean design with an artsy edge. I love her subtly detailed pages!
Name: Jen Jockisch
Blog: Ginger Grace
In My Opinion: Jen has long been one of my all time favorite scrapbookers -- ever since I discovered her at the now defunct SisTV.com. She does magical layers of patterned paper mixed with pen work. She has never made a layout that I didn't coo over and adore. I can't imagine anyone looking at her work and not falling in love in a serious way!
Name: Kimberly Neddo
Blog: Capturing the Moments
In My Opinion: Kimberly does beautiful classic design with an unexpected twist! She always manages to surprise me with something unusual and unique, like the curved ribbon dividing the page above. So gosh darn clever!
So that's it! Three days of the scrapbookers whose blogs I subscribe to. I love peeking at their pages and being inspired by them! But I'm sure that I'm missing a ton of really talented scrapbookers! Let me know who you love. Who really rocks your world? (And leave a link!)
Thanks for stopping by!
