CHA Winter 2011: in iPhone Photos
January 31, 2011
Here's the story of my CHA (Craft and Hobby Association Show) journey thus far.
I got to spend about ten hours at the airport. So...
...I got a pedicure. And sat in a massaging chair for about an hour-and-a-half.
And since it was my birthday...
...I splurged on a caviar, foie gras, and salmon dinner. At the airport! It's amazing what lurks inside JFK!
Never been so happy to see baggage claim in my whole life! Of course it was a little after 5am. I was pretty punchy.
We flew along the darkened highway.
I fell into a happy sleep at the hotel.
Up early to set up the booth.
It's sweaty work. Don't I look nice and shiny?
One of the nicest things about having my Mom here...
...other than her sparkling personality, is that she understands the need for me to scrapbook everything, and so she took plenty of photos of me and the booth.
The rest of the day was a whirlwind of meetings. All the business of the business, you know? I still feel like a nobody and an outsider, so it was kind of awesome to discover how many people here I actually know.
I've been doing demos at various booths:
Stencils and watercolor crayons at The Crafter's Workshop.
Mixing Earth Safe Finishes paint at the ScraPerfect booth.
Lots of meetings (both planned and unexpected). Check out the zentangle I made at the Sakura booth:
In the mornings I wait for the bus...
...and finally arrive at the L.A. Convention Center:
I haven't really had a chance to do the usual schmoozing and walking around at a leisurely pace, but the best and nicest people have been stopping by the booth (yay!):
I'm tired, but happy! As I tweeted earlier, each new day offers the possiblity of something wonderful to happen!
Thanks for stopping by!
