I put together a quick layout just for fun! I really like how it turned out! I’ve had that little paper star in my scrap drawer forever. It was such a pleasure to find a place for it on this layout. This is a stamp that I designed for a now defunct kit club called "My Kits & Pieces." I still *adore* the stamp and use it too infrequently! Here is this week's Pencil Lines sketch: And my take on it: Check out the details: I put brads through some of the holes in the double layered buttons. I stamped the journaling with white paint and an awesome alphabet stamp set from Studio Calico. I tried to include word embellishments, given the "work" nature of this layout. On Saturday I went to an all-day crop with the Manhattan Scrapbookers. Going to a crop means packing. I *detest* packing for a crop. Plus I find it fairly impossible. I always want to take my sewing machine, typewriter, and every single paint and spray I own. Living in New York with no car means you just can't take it all with you! Today I'm going to talk about a different kind of art journaling. One that doesn't necessarily have all the paint and ink. The focus is more on the journaling with a smattering of the art. A little more free time has meant a lot more awesome creative time just for playing around! Yay! I have had this ugly painting staring at me for many months: A total failure and I just didn't know what to do with the canvas.
