The fabulous Miss Liz Curtin (you may remember her awesome puzzle pin tutorial from Holidays Handmade Week) is curating an exhibit of small quilts in the gallery at the Carter Burden Center for Aging. As you can see from the image above, I am lucky enough to have a quilt in the exhibit! Sadly, I'm in Cleveland today and can't make it to the reception. But maybe you can! Or maybe stop by another time. The gallery is open Monday - Friday from 9am - 5pm. I am so honored to be included. Thanks for stopping by! Read more →

Today I am driving from New York City to Cleveland, Ohio with Ms. Carla Sylvester. Why am I going to Cleveland? Besides the awesome road trip pictures we are going to have? I'll give you a hint: Carla is the Education Manager for Martha Stewart Crafts at EK Success. Cool job, right? But does that hint help you guess why Carla and I are taking an eight-hour road trip to Cleveland? Well, it's because airfare from NYC to Cleveland (Carla lives in New Jersey) was up over $1000. But why do we both need to be in Cleveland? That's the... Read more →

I combined my new stencils (yay!) from The Crafter's Workshop (TCW) with Golden Fluid Acrylics and acrylic paint from DecoArts to make this lovely little (actually it's BIG - 16x20) face. The kind people at DecoArts sent me some of their Traditions paints to play with and I had a good time experimenting with a color palette that's slightly different than I'm used to. The paint is very creamy, goes on beautifully, and has a great matte finish. I was a little worried that the paint would be too transparent (it's nice and opaque) or have too much water content... They make sharing such a joy every single day! Thank you! Thank you! And now on to today's regularly scheduled blog post.... Today is my last day as a Prima Girl. I have been lucky enough to be on the Prima Marketing Design Team for the last few years. This time around I made the decision not to reapply. I am very busy with some fun new projects and the timing... Read more →

I have loved reading all the guesses. And now I'll stop teasing you! Here's the very good news I've been holding on to for months (and it has been killing me): I have been a fan of The Crafter's Workshop (TCW) from almost the minute I discovered their über fabulous stencils! I use them all the time, teach with them constantly, and I know I've talked about them a million times on this blog. Great designs, excellent quality, just all around fabulous-ness! Jaime and Ted are a husband and wife duo who own the company. A couple of CHAs ago,... Read more →

Awesome guesses yesterday. And some of you got it right! But you'll have to stay in suspense just a day longer. Okay, okay. One more hint: Tomorrow I'll give you all the info! In the meantime... You've asked and now we're answering! Watch for descriptions of all the classes we're teaching to roll out over the next few weeks. And now, just like a nosy reader, we're starting at the end. On Sunday afternoon (November 27) Nat and I will team teach a class called, "The Grande Finale: Book of Techniques." Use this book as an art journal, scrapbook, or... Read more →
