Crafternoon with Crochet

I hosted a little Crafternoon at my place this weekend.  Two of the funnest and funniest guys I know...

SethandRodney
...offered up their master crochet skills to the rest of us.

Seth walked in gave me one of the most gorgeous handmade gifts I've ever received.

Scarf
And after trying out crochet for myself, I'm even more impressed with his mad crochet skills!  The scarf is gorgeous and super long and I adore it!  I can hardly wait for it to be cold enough to wear it!

We had a room divided at the Crafternoon.  Crochet-ers on one side...

...and scrapbookers on the other side.

Scrapbooking
I believe Louise did ask if watermelon was archival, because it was wedged among all the scrapbook supplies and getting everything wet!

Fruit
Of course we had plenty of Diet Coke to keep us fueled up:

And sweet Louise Nelson joined us all the way from Australia!!!

She is a master crochet-er!  Very, very impressive!

And Kelly Purkey came from nearly as far...

Kelly
...somewhere so far up in Manhattan I lose count of the numbers.  ;)

Seth and Rodney were wonderful and patient teachers...

...but we were slow students.  Or at least I was.  Three of the following four objects were crocheted by Seth and one by me.  Can you guess which one?

Let's just say that Seth looked at my finished piece and said, "What is this?"  Ha.  Ha.  Ha.

But in all seriousness, it was such a joyful event.  And I have a new skill!  And a new book coming my way from Amazon.

Thanks for stopping by!
