Collage Journeys in Vermont: The Overview
August 20, 2012
As I mentioned on Tuesday, I rented a car and drove up to Vermont for Jane Davies' Collage Journeys in Vermont workshop.
There's a lot to share, so I thought I'd do it in installments. Today I'm going to give you a brief overview of the event overall.
The workshop was held in rural Vermont. No cell phone signal and plenty of wildlife.
I stayed in a beautiful house...
...high up on a hill with an enchanting view...
...and two of my nine fellow students: Cathy and Sharon.
Class was held in the Rupert Fire House.
We enjoyed the company of all three fire trucks except when one was briefly removed for a bath.
The fire trucks also proved useful for storage.
There was much painting and collaging and creative play!
Every day at noon a siren would sound in the Fire House, letting us know that it was time for lunch.
Then it was back to work, until it was time for dinner.
Each night a drive home down a pitch black windy country road.
Each morning a sense of renewed energy for that day's artistic adventure!
I'll share more of the journey on Thursday with a bit about each of my fellow students. And next week I'll share some more of the work that I did and talk about what I'm taking away from the experience.
Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. Wishing my little brother a very Happy Birthday!
