Words Have Power
100 Canvases: Canvas #1

NYC + Me = 13 Years

Thirteen years ago, on this day, I moved to New York City.  I thought it was just for a nine-month-long internship.  These days, it's looking more and more like it's for a lifetime.  I have mixed feelings about that.  I adore New York City, but it's not an easy place to live.  I made a scrapbook page to sort out my thoughts:

NewYorkProCon-wm
I kept the page super simple -- white cardstock, some stamping, two photos, and two simple handwritten lists.  And, I love it!  I think it's elegant and straight forward and expresses where I am right now.

Please note that I caught the edge of the "P" stamp and got a big black mark.  Did I start the page over?

Nope.

In the end, it doesn't matter.  The page still looks clean.  It doesn't affect the readability of the journaling or the subtitles.  And now it's clear that a human being made the page and not a machine -- always one of my goals.

It felt good to create this page and write down those thoughts that have been bouncing around in my head.  The pro list is still longer than the con list, so I think we'll be staying in NYC for a while!  Do you have a pro and con list about where you live?

Thanks for stopping by!
