The Weekend Five: September in Central Park

This last week I had an appointment way across town on the Upper East Side.  Afterwards, It was such a lovely day that I decided to walk home through the man-made wonder that is Central Park.  If you don't know anything about the history of Central Park, you can read up on it here.  The not-so-savory beginnings of the park are easy to forget on a beautiful September day....

There was a young man sitting by the fountain sketching.  It made me realize that in all the years I've lived in New York City, I have never once taken a sketchbook into the park.  That seems like a mistake that needs fixing, doesn't it?
