Art Journal Every Day: Flickr Favorites
October 12, 2012
If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here. All of the previous posts can be found archived here. There is a flickr group for sharing right here. Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day! No need to finish anything or even like it. If you've done some art journaling this week and you've blogged about it, or put it on flickr, please leave a link in the linky list at the end of this post. Thanks!
I've said it before and I'll say it again. It's the contributors to Art Journal Every Day that make this series so much fun. I took a leisurely stroll through some of the recent artwork that has been posted in the Art Journal Every Day flickr pool and it is so inspiring. I picked out a few of my favorites to highlight, but you should check out the whole pool yourself! (I will say that there was a lot of work I wanted to highlight, but had very serious copyright messages, so I didn't feel right sharing a pic.)
from Tabitha Klucking:
I love how she has incorporated so much trash into her layout and made it look so cool.
from strawberryredhead:
I love the washi tape collection in the center of the page!
from melitabloomer:
Loooooooove the sentiment on this one and if I'm not mistaken, I believe it's digital. And that, just blows my mind!
from jessica.sporn:
There are several things here that make my heart go pitter-patter: Love the stamped border (I suspect done with a hand carved stamp) and I love the pops of white and the journaling in a circle makes me swoon!
This is another one from Jessica. Those folk art figures just blow me away!
from Kathy Paper Pumpkin:
I love the pen work in the trunks of the trees and her journaling is beautiful.
from Robyn Weinrib:
Looooooove the abandon in this spread! And the teal/rust combo is sublime.
from xstitchdiva:
Knitting in your journal?! Swoon!
from PackerDi:
First, I wonder from her username if she's a Packers fan? Or does she pack things for a living? An intriguing username. Second, this layout is wonderful. I have a thing for hot pink these days. Delish!
In the description she says that she did this with colored pencil and Distress Daubers. I am beyond curious about how she used the Daubers. I haven't found a way to incorporate them into my work yet.
This page is by the same artist and just glorious. I'm a sucker for drawings of art supplies.
from Carolyn Dube:
This is everything I love about a journal page: colorful, lots of layers, you see the artist's hand. Just wonderful!
from marciadotcom:
I love, love, love all the doodling here. Fantastic!
from Kay Oft:
I love an overfull page. And all the writing is just wonderful!
from Charlotte Burt:
Love the soft painting and the beautiful drawing!
There's so much to love in the flickr pool! Hope you're feeling as inspired as I am! Here's the linky list for this week:
Thanks for stopping by!
