A Wonderfully Ridiculous Problem
December 06, 2012
I have a wonderfully ridiculous problem.
I am working really hard at pumping out artwork for my upcoming book. And yet I have absolutely nothing that I'm allowed to show you. It's so frustrating and it has made blogging and instagramming so very difficult recently. I'm used to the rhythm of make & share, so it's really hard to keep it to myself.
But I must.
It'll be worth the wait. I hope.
In the meantime, I've been rummaging through my studio trying to find something artistic to share today. I found this tag:
Before I sit down for high-pressure creating (like the book projects) I like to warm myself up with a piece of "throwaway" art. I don't actually throw it away, but it's something low-pressure like the face I drew on this tag that already had spray ink all over it. Sometimes it turns out nicely (like this one did) and sometimes it turns out not so nicely (like the ones all over my studio floor). Either way it's a good way to loosen up and get the creative juices flowing! I paint on envelopes, scrap paper from the printer, junk mail, used tags -- just something that makes me feel like it doesn't have to be (capital A) Art.
Hope you're keeping busy in your neck of the woods. Thanks for stopping by!
