My "One Little Word" for 2013
Getting Started with the Gelli Plate

Ranger Dylusions Designer Challenge: CHA Winter 2013

I was absolutely delighted when Dyan Reaveley asked me to contribute to Ranger's CHA Booth Designer Challenge.  We were each sent one color of her Dylusions spray ink, plus black and white, and a canvas board, along with some tags and a few of her stencils.  The rules were that the board had to be vertically oriented and that we were not to use other colors than the one we were sent.  I love mixing lots and lots of colors, so it was hard to think what to do with only one color (plus black and white).  Here's what I came up with:

I used the tags and some masking tape to create texture.  Stencils added pattern (a.k.a. visual texture) to the piece.  All in all, I'm quite pleased with how she turned out.  I tried my best not to overwork her face (a little problem of mine).  She looks strong and beautiful to me -- an enviable combination!

Thanks for stopping by!

ETA: The color I received was green.  Any other colors are purely from collaged material (tags and a bit of ephemera -- note the Korean newspaper) collaged underneath the painting.  :)
