Things I Love

13 Months. 100 Pounds. A Personal Story.

On July 4, 2012 I committed to Weight Watchers.

I started losing weight immediately.  It wasn't easy, but it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be either.  Week after week, the weight came off.  I saw the results on the scale, but less so in photos.

On November 8, 2012 John and I decided to get a divorce and he moved out.

It was the perfect time to fall apart and let the whole Weight Watchers lifestyle die.  But instead, it gave me strength.  The "rules" and regime of the Weight Watchers plan provided structure when I felt as if everything in my world was adrift.  I clung to it like a life raft.

The weight kept coming off as I continued to embrace the Weight Watchers plan and myself.  The weight loss was beginning to show!

So here I am, a little more than a year after I commited to Weight Watchers.

I still have plenty more weight to lose, but I've also received so many comments and questions about my weight that I felt it was time to "come out of the closet" about it.  If you have questions about my weight loss journey, feel free to leave them in the comments section.  Next week I'll do a post answering those questions.  But I have no plans to turn this blog into a weight loss blog.  It's still art, art, art!

Thanks for stopping by!
