Art Journal Every Day: End of Summer Dailies

ArtJournalEveryDayLogo-150If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here.  All of the previous posts can be found archived here.  There is a flickr group for sharing right here.  Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day!  No need to finish anything or even like it.  If you've done some art journaling this week and you've blogged about it, or put it on flickr, please leave a link in the linky list at the end of this post.  Thanks!

Today I'm sharing some art journal pages from the end of August and the beginning of September.  I really love the act of writing in my journal every day.  It's like a pressure release.  I just brain dump all of my thoughts, insecurities, fears, hopes, and the random junk that's floating around in there.  I always feel good afterwards and ready to face the rest of the day!

1-MarkerFace-wm
I've been trying to kick myself out of my painted face rut, so I used markers to create this face.

1-Detail-wm
I really like how she turned out. It has made me want to try letting go of the brush more often.

2-SimpleFace-wm
I am less thrilled with this face.  I had an idea and it just didn't quite work out.  But the thing I love about my art journal is that when something doesn't work out, you just turn the page and move on!

2-Face-wm
Many years ago I had a paper line with a French scrapbooking manufacturer.  The patterned paper behind the face is from that line.

2-DoodledTape-wm
It's always amazing to me how cool a bit of black and white doodling looks (behind the face).

3-Triangles-wm
Trying to push myself away from "just doing faces," I drew some triangles on this page.

The alphabet stamps are hand carved.

4-Hands-wm
Another attempt to get away from painting faces!

That's my Curl Frame stencil in this hand.

4-Writing-wm
A bit of faked fancy lettering is always a good choice.
