Art Journal Every Day: Inspiration from the Flickr Pool

ArtJournalEveryDayLogo-150If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here.  All of the previous posts can be found archived here.  There is a flickr group for sharing right here.  Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day!  No need to finish anything or even like it.  If you've done some art journaling this week and you've blogged about it, or put it on flickr, please leave a link in the linky list at the end of this post.  Thanks!

Today I'm sharing some awesome pages that I found when flicking through the Art Journal Every Day flickr pool.  I often get asked for sites that have journal prompts to help you get inspired, but there's plenty of awesome inspiration to get you going right in the AJED flickr pool!  After each spread I'll share a prompt inspired by that page.  I hope it's helpful!

I love the text and her masterful use of the Profile stencil!

Journaling Prompt: Steal the quote: "Live Out Loud" and create a page around it!

From Elizabeth Cooper:

Those words are true about so much in life, including opening up your art journal.  :)

Journaling Prompt: Divide your page in half.  Put text on one half and an image on the other half.

Of course I love the use of the 4 Feathers stencil, but I'm also totally digging the white hatch markings all across the page.  Is that a stamp?  A found object?  I love it!

Journaling Prompt: Steal the color combo: aqua, red, and yellow-orange.  Use only those three colors to create a journal page.

From Michelle Mathey:

A beautiful illustration that so aptly describes the way we all feel some days, right?

Journaling Prompt: Use rain on your journal page in some way.  If you can't draw, there are plenty of rain stencils and stamps, or pull an image from a magazine!

Something about this spread reminds me a photo negative.  I love the expressiveness of her lines. Just spectacular!

Journaling Prompt: Create a page on a dark background.

From Jo-E:

I love how packed this page is and the writing through the woman's face is just wonderful!

Journaling Prompt: Power pack your page.  Try filling absolutely every single inch of your page with pattern and text and color.

From Gwyn:

Color and texture and I just want to dive into this spread and live there!!

Journaling Prompt: Steal the theme of fall and create a page all about what it means to you!

From Michaela Harper:

Text in the hair = genius!  I love how she made the Three-Quarter stencil her own!

Journaling Prompt: Steal the notion of "jumbled thoughts."  What does that mean to you?  Create a page all about it!

So, there you go: eight journaling prompts to keep you busy all week and then some!

Here is this week's linky list:
