Dina Wakley Media Line with Ranger

I'm so delighted to be able to share my friend Dina's new paints and brushes with you!

Dina Blog Hop Graphic

These are acrylic paints that come in convenient little tubes.  They come in a wide range of colors, and the line includes white and black gesso, and gel medium.  The brushes are long handled synthetic bristle brushes.

I took the paints and brushes for a spin and put together this little stenciled art journal...

Playing with the paints was lots of fun.  They dry very matte and chalky, which is great for art journaling (pages won't stick together).  They have a very long open time (I left some out on my palette, went to dinner, and when I came back they were still wet and usable).  They work great for stenciling.  They're a little on the translucent side, which can be good and bad, depending on what the effect is y0u're going for.  The brushes are nice and stiff, which is great for brushing paint through stencils with large openings.  All in all, I'm very pleased to add them to my creative stash!

If you'd like to add them to your creative stash, Dina is giving away TWO full sets of her paints and brushes on her blog!  Be sure to visit her blog as well as hop around to all the other fabulous artists:

P.S. If you like the look of this journal, I'm teaching it as an in-person class in Masonville, Colorado on June 1 and in Somerset, New Jersey on July 11.  It's called "The Stenciled Art Journal."
