The last few weeks have been a flurry of scrapbooking and papercrafting in my apartment! So many projects and step-outs and fun things to make! I am in Ohio this week doing lots of filming and crafting and wearing the longest fake eyelashes in the world! On the upside I now have big enough eyes to be Cindy Lou Who or maybe a Disney character? I unabashedly love the glamour of makeup (even if I can't figure out how to apply it myself)! My friend Nathalie lives about an hour subway ride away, across the river in New Jersey. She'd say 45 minutes. I say an hour. She'd say Jersey City is pretty much New York City, I'd say it's not. ;) Last week she was part of an art exhibition in her apartment complex. With the nice weather in NYC, I just want to be outside exploring! A few weekends ago I took a long walk along the water, at the edge of Brooklyn, under the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge! Here are five photos of that (windy) adventure: In the photo above I'm looking down at the rocks against the boardwalk. There is a ton of garbage that washes up on those rocks and I have to admit that I find it rather fascinating -- ropes, wood, furniture, toilet seats, clothes. "Treasures" from the sea? I love using my paint rags for fabric projects. After they're too used to use as paint rags, I wash them, iron them and incorporate them into my stitch projects! A while ago I made this cute little ugly doll, but I don't think I ever shared him on the blog: I used a white paint pen to color in the eyes and teeth.
