Home Sweet Home
June 09, 2014
Aaaaaaah. It feels so good to be home, waking up to the view I love!
I have had back-to-back-to-back trips out of town. In the past four weeks, I've slept in my own bed just 5 nights. I love my job and I'm so lucky to have all the opportunities that I do, but I'll confess to being a little bit road weary at the moment.
I'm hopping out of town one more time this week. But it's just for 24-hours: I'm headed to Tampa for two appearances on HSN (Home Shopping Network). I'm going to be showing off some awesomely cool tools from We R Memory Keepers (WRMK) at 4pm and 9pm EST on Wednesday, June 11, 2014.
As the week continues, I'll be sharing all about my trip to Colorado here on the blog. I've been to Colorado several times, but this trip I got to see a lot more nature. And, to this city girl, it was mighty and impressive. Awesome, in the true sense of the word.
I did not take enough photos of the mountains and rivers and all the wonderfully inspiring views. It's no wonder that Colorado is a hot bed of artists. There's so much fantastic inspiration around every bend in the road!
I taught and I taped (both of which I will talk about in detail this week) and I got to hang out with some awesomely cool art friends. There were lots of late night heart-to-heart conversations about art and business and finding balance in your life and one night it devolved into slumber-party-style hair curling....
We saw a lot of public art, and occasionally interacted with it....
Actually, there was a lot of interacting.
And a lot of laughing.
I also got to visit with my friend Ronda.
I very much enjoyed making & taking with her at Rocky Mountain Memories.
Here is a photo of the project we made:
And my version (because I can't follow directions):
After making & taking, Ronda and I hatched some plans for an art retreat in Colorado in September. Once we work out the details, we'll fill you in, but I'm super excited about the whole thing. Doesn't a weekend making art with Ronda and Julie sound like the most awesome thing in the world?! ;)
While at Rocky Mountain Memories, I ran into several fabulous artists who are also blog readers. I love meeting blog readers and I love it even more when you e-mail me the photos we take together, like Jan did:
(I wanted to steal her striped top from her, it was so darn cute!)
Anyway, more art and silliness from Colorado in the coming days!
Thanks for stopping by!
