The Weekend Five: Fifteen Years in NYC
September 13, 2014
On September 12, 1999 I moved to New York City for a three-month internship. I subletted an apartment for nine months, figuring that nine months would be more than enough time for my "New York Experience." Somehow I never managed to go back "home." It's hard for me to believe that I've called New York City home for the past fifteen years. But, it's true! So here are five photos of me out in the city that I love. (By the way, what did we do before digital photos? And camera phones? I couldn't find almost anything pre-2004!)
2001
My time in New York has been filled with wonderful friends, events, and lots and lots of theatre tickets! (P.S. Thank goodness I'm a scrapbooker. I have no idea where the negatives for the photo above might be, but luckily I've got it scrapped!)
2005
I will always enjoy simply walking around the streets of New York, people watching and window shopping!
2009
It's awesome that NYC is filled with color and pattern. Inspiration is everywhere!
2012
Central Park is one of my favorite places. It's a lovely green oasis in this concrete jungle.
2014
Maybe my favorite thing about NYC: exploring somewhere new. This photo is in an a totally new-to-me area of the city. I have lived here for fifteen years and yet I feel like I've barely explored this vast city. So many new adventures to be had!
Where have you called home for the past decade or so?
Thanks for stopping by!
