The Weekend Five: A Trip to Ellis Island

I recently spent an afternoon playing tourist in NYC with my friends Birgit, Nathalie, and Jenn.

And then on to Ellis Island!  Much of the museum is not there because of Hurricane Sandy.  But there was still lots of interesting stuff to read...

...plus a beautiful building...

While exploring outside we looked for our relatives on the engraved wall.

I took a photo with some Balzers I didn't know, but then later (under H), I found my grandparents' names!  Pretty exciting!

It was really hard to choose only five photos to share with you because, being proper tourists, we took about a million of them!
