100 Canvases: Canvas #28
January 22, 2015
Here is the second of my Polke-inspired canvases:
Again, this is a canvas that tells a personal story.
I stretched the canvas myself and used an old paint rag instead of a piece of canvas. The white rectangle was added after the paint rag was stretched.
This is another custom Thermofax screen I created. The texture of the paint rag (blobs of dried paint, etc.) gave the print a slightly distressed look.
I'm not sure that this is pretty art, or even attractive art, but I do think it's interesting. For years I've been saying that I'm working on creating interesting faces rather than pretty ones. This is an interesting painting rather than a pretty one. It speaks to me.
What do you think? Does it speak to you?
Thanks for stopping by!
