Happy Saturday! This weekend I thought I'd share five quotes that I find very motivating. It's not easy being a freelancer. It requires serious discipline and some days I need to be reminded to keep working hard, trying new things, and dreaming big dreams! source source source source source Is there a quote or saying that motivates you? I'd love to know what it is! Thanks for stopping by! Read more →

Yesterday I shared some art I made on the airplane and in my hotel room. Today I'm sharing several projects that I made in the midst of filming Scrapbook Soup in order to fill two holes. It's always interesting to make projects during filming -- high tension. The projects have to look good and they usual require using very specific supplies and techniques, which can be limiting. I prefer to think of them as a fascinating puzzle that has to get done as quickly and efficiently as possible. An art game of sorts! First up, I needed a project that... Read more →

Hey there! I've been a busy bee and have a few updates to share. --- First, I could really use your help. Gudrun Sjöden is one of my favorite clothing manufacturers (she makes crazy colorful clothes in lots of sizes) -- I'm wearing a shirt she designed in this photo! Someone very kind nominated me for the Gudrun Sjoden "Most Colorful Woman" contest for the month of June. I'd love to be chosen and get to go to Sweden to meet Gudrun. Would you mind taking a moment to vote for me? Here is the url: bit.ly/vote4Julie ETA: The link... Read more →

I recently stumbled into this excellent video from Jennifer McGuire on YouTube: In the video Jennifer shares a fabulously amazing tip for keeping your fine-tip adhesives from clogging. I love Glossy Accents, but every single time I take it out to use, I have to grab a pin to unclog the tip. It takes a while and it's frustrating. Jennifer shares how she uses a Fine Line Applicator Cap to keep her nozzle from clogging. I **had** to try it. These are the parts and pieces I had: A bottle of Glossy Accents with its tiny tip and original cap,... Read more →

Today I'm sharing some scrapbook pages I created for the upcoming season of Scrapbook Soup TV. First up is a page that features two of the new Balzer Designs stencils: Tiled Flower and Pods on Sticks. This next layout is kind of a cool idea. The segment is all about how titles can change a layout. So I took the same layout and tried out three different title (and embellishment) treatments. Which title/embellishment combo is your favorite? Thanks for stopping by! ---- The winner of the box of goodies from Tami Sanders.... ...is... Congratulations, Miss Iowa! E-mail me with your...
