Art Journal Every Day: Airplane Doodles!
June 26, 2015
If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here. All of the previous posts can be found archived here. There is a flickr group for sharing right here. Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day! No need to finish anything or even like it. If you've done some art journaling this week and you've blogged about it, or put it on flickr, please leave a link in the linky list at the end of this post. Thanks!
Every time I travel I've got more art to share! Yay! I took my Gelli Printed sketchbook with me and I created three pieces, which I'm excited to share with you today.
The first one I had started on another trip and finally found the time to finish it on this trip:
I took just a few pens with me... ;)
This one is technically not an airplane doodle. I did it while I was at Art Journaling Live.
The third one was inspired by this post on instagram:
I loved the patterning in the letters! So, I created my own similar alphabet in bright colors:
There were a few letters that I didn't feel I had gotten quite right, so I tried them again when I got to the end of the alphabet, like the "M's" you see above and the "W" and "B" below:
I'm currently working on an online class (launching this Fall) where I'll share my tips and techniques for creating pages like these! Yay!
Here is this week's linky list:
Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. I have a bunch of random art stuff to give away: pens, markers, stamps, scraps, minibooks, tape, a screenprinting machine, paint etc. Some of it is new, some of it is used. You must be able to pick the boxes up in midtown Manhattan this weekend (either Saturday or Sunday). You must take all THREE boxes. This is a package deal. You will need a vehicle to transport them (and maybe a helper to carry them down to the car). They're too unwieldy to take on the subway and they're not neat closed boxes. First person to e-mail me wins. It's gone! Thanks so much!
