Dallas Love Field Art Gallery
June 25, 2015
I recently flew in and out of Dallas Love Field. It's a small airport. Well, smaller than Dallas Fort Worth, which isn't saying much. It turns out that they have a super cool public art program known as the Love Field Art Program. Color me impressed! I love to see a city supporting and displaying art!
I stumbled into the Love Field Art Gallery by accident. I'm sad to say that I was the only person in there, but I am hopeful that other people do wander in.
The lighting was kind of not great and most of the art wasn't that interesting to me, but it was lovely nonetheless. Here are a few of the pieces I saw:
The Love Field Art Program website has a map of where to find the artwork in the airport, along with photos of both the permanent pieces and the exhibit artwork.
My favorite art I saw was part of the permanent collection. It was beautiful stained glass (these are not my photos, but from the official website):
Those little dash lines...they're one of my all-time favorite motifs!
Art is all around us! I'm delighted that I stumbled across this little gallery and spent some of my airport waiting time being filled up by the creativity of others rather than sitting and staring at my phone! Seeing art really does make me happy. How about you?
Thanks for stopping by!
