Shoe Redo: Painted High Tops
June 08, 2015
I painted a pair of sneakers several years ago, back in 2010.
I loved wearing them around! I always got lots of comment and questions about them. However, those shoes died of old age long ago and so I decided it was time to create some new ones. I came across these black high tops ($15 at Kmart)...
...and decided they were the perfect blank canvas!
I used Tulip Dimensional Fabric Paint and went to town with some doodles!
I used the Tulip paint because it's meant for fabric (the shoes are canvas). The bottle says that after it cures (72 hours), painted surfaces can be washed, so I figured that the paint would be permanent and waterproof on my sneakers! I will say that my hand nearly fell off from squeezing the bottle for so long, so I would recommend working in bursts of time rather than all at once.
And here I am wearing my fabulous new sneakers!
Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. Just a reminder that I'm coming to Texas this month!
In the lovely image above they managed to butcher the name of my class, which should be, "Easy Art Journal Lettering" and they left out my middle name. But the rest of it is accurate. :)
