One of the first things that made me fall in love with stamp carving was this technique for creating multi-colored prints. (You can find the whole technique in great detail in my book, Carve Stamp Play.) Having recently carved up most of my garbage rubber, I gave myself permission to crack open a nice new block of Speedy Carve. (My blocks are 2"x3".) Many months ago when I was teaching at Scrapbook Centrale I fell in love with the wall of Art Foamies she had for sale. Beautiful designs! I bought lots and brought them home in my suitcase. If you're like me, you order so many business cards that you think there's no way you'll actually ever run out. Well, it finally happened. I actually ran out and needed to buy some more. The other night I decided to gather my most hated shape of garbage rubber: I know it's hard to tell scale from this photo, but these are tiny skinny bits. They're not large enough to really cut into shapes other than the long skinny rectangles they are. I stared at them for a while and thought very seriously about just throwing them away. Remember when I posted that video about the Sakura Solid Markers several months ago? Recently, someone posted the following comment on that video on YouTube: Often used as a Graffiti marker, you can split the marker in half and put two colors together.. The color patterns are very eye attracting. Well, I absolutely had to try it out for myself! I chose two colors I thought would work well together.
