The Weekend Five: Twelve Days with my Mom
August 29, 2015
If you listened to our most recent podcast, you know that I spent twelve days with my Mom for her cataract surgery. You can see my level of helpfulness in this photo from the hospital waiting room:
In my defense it was super early. We watched the sun rise from that waiting room. Still...not that helpful, I guess. ;)
Despite the surgery we managed to have a really good time! We ate a lot of fabulous food.
The town I grew up in (where my Mom still lives) has a large Middle Eastern population. As a result there is so much super delicious Middle Eastern food. Whenever I visit, I make sure we eat lots of it. In the photo is a Turkish breakfast. Yum!
Did you know that I'm super blind? Well, I am. I wear contacts most of the time, but I got some new glasses frames on this visit!
We went shopping for lots more than glasses (of course)....
I love the bold patterns of Marimekko (and the fact that I can actually fit into some of their clothes). Thank you to all manufacturers who make clothes with room for us bigger girls!
Mostly we just hung out and had a really good time!
Hope you're having a good weekend! Thanks for stopping by!
