This weekend I taught two classes at The Ink Pad here in NYC. Today I'm sharing photos from Saturday's class: Gelli + Deli. It's all about Gelli Printing! The Ink Pad brought their ScanNCut to class and I showed students how quick and easy it is to cut stencils based on drawings or magazine images. By the by, if you order a ScanNCut from The Ink Pad, they offer you 15% off all ScanNCut accessories forever. Pretty sweet deal. If you're interested in learning more about Gelli + Deli, try my the online "Gelli Deli Color Bundle." It's not the... Read more →

You may recall that back in April Rebekah Meier was a guest on the Adventures in Arting Podcast. During the podcast she chatted about her new product line with Fabric Editions called Fabric Elements. Fabric Editions is the leader in pre-cut fabrics. Rebekah's line, Fabric Elements, is all about pre-cut materials for the mixed media artist including Wool Felt, Lutradur, Peltex, Batting, Waffle Muslin, and Osnaburg, all in neutrals so that your personal colors can be added. The line also includes patterned tissue paper, stencils, and trims. Rebekah sent me some of the items from her collection and I turned... Read more →

Ready for a tour of my really messy, really functional, really real studio? Let's do it! These jewelry racks are awesome! I love them. They're from a place called Ginny's Ear Nests, which I'm super sad to say appears to have gone out of business. However, they're liquidating their stock and it looks like you can purchase pieces at a steep discount on ebay! This is my main work area -- two folding tables in a divided "L" configuration. My studio is filled with drawers. I 100% believe that they're the only way for me to stay organized. I can... Read more →

Today I'm taking you into the bedroom. When you see the photos you might giggle because I pretty much sleep in the world's largest walk in closet. Seriously, I have shelves everywhere. One of the moving companies that came to give me an estimate said, "You have a lot more stuff than I'd expect in a normal two-bedroom apartment." He did go on to say that I wasn't at hoarder level yet. "I will give you a compliment and say that things are very organized." Thanks? The quilt is a piece I made back in 2007. I love my kindle,... Tune into HSN today (Tuesday, September 8) during the 10am and 2pm EST hours to catch me with the ScanNCut! You can also stream the show online if you don't get HSN on your TV! Trust me, you're not going to want to miss it! And now for today's post.... Saturday will mark sixteen years in New York City for me. Pretty amazing. However, it will also be my last NYC anniversary because I'm moving to Massachusetts. Before I pack everything up, I thought you might like a peek into my home. I took the photos for myself (after all,... Read more →

Hello! I've got a new look and feel to my ScanNCut videos. My brother... ...is now filming and editing them for me. I think he brought a fresh new perspective to the process. Watch them and let me know what you think! First up, a video sharing just how quick and easy it is to add a seam allowance to virtually any design: Next is a problem I get e-mails about all the time. The questions vary: my scan has extra cut lines, how can I scan a line drawing, etc.? But the answer is the same and so simple.... Read more →
