October 2015 posts

I'm still unpacking here at the new place. It just goes on and on, doesn't it? In the meantime, I thought I'd pop in with a few photos of the old apartment being packed up! There were no chairs at a certain point in the packing, so I found my way onto the kitchen counter. And then it was all gone.... Definitely a bittersweet experience to walk around that empty apartment. That apartment was my home for the last five years. I lived in that building for eleven years, and New York City for sixteen. New adventures are ahead! Hope... Read more →

Hi, it's Amy Tangerine here! I had the pleasure of spending some time with Julie several months ago when we were shooting for Scrapbook Soup. Although it was a jam packed day for Julie shooting many segments with many guests, I had a bit of down time. Julie had piles of supplies and projects and it was inspiring just being around it. You know that feeling/energy that you feel around amazingly talented people who just exude creativity? It's hard to describe in words, but for those of you who have attended in-person art or paper craft classes, you may know... Read more →

Hi! Wilna Furstenberg here and I am so happy to be doing a guest post for Julie today! I want to share with you a quick and simple way to make some mixed media gift wrap and we will be working mostly with ink pads to eliminate the paper buckling. Steps 1-4 You can see I am using a white roll of paper and I cut the piece big enough to wrap the gift and taped it to my table to keep it open. Next I used an assortment of ink pad colors to “paint” the white paper with. Then... Read more →

Hi everyone! Kathy, Crafty Chica here! I’m so thrilled to be stepping in for a guest post on Julie’s fabulous blog! My post is about a recent experience I had, where I had to just let the “feed dogs” of life guide me through to the other side. Early last summer I was invited to submit a piece of art for a show called Chicano State of Mind at the Mesa Arts Center. I knew it was a big deal because the show was going to kick off a 10-year birthday party for the Center AND it was going to... Read more →
