Art Journal Every Day: September Straight to November
November 27, 2015
If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here. All of the previous posts can be found archived here. There is a flickr group for sharing right here. Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day! No need to finish anything or even like it. If you've done some art journaling this week and you've blogged about it, or put it on flickr, please leave a link in the linky list at the end of this post. Thanks!
I think I've mentioned this before, but October somehow didn't happen in my art journal. And while this Friday feature is called "Art Journal Every Day" -- and that is the goal -- I simply refuse to kick myself when I fall off the wagon. Experience has taught me that I will always find my way back to my art journal eventually. I just need to give it time and space. So today I'm sharing a page from the end of September and then one from the beginning of November. They're right next to each other in my art journal and that's okay.
I used Sakura Solid Markers to create the cool crayon-like texture you see in the flowers.
For the lettering I used Sakura Moonlight Pens and Pen Touch Markers, along with a white Sharpie.
This butterfly was built-on Gelli Printed Deli Paper -- one of my favorite favorite favorite things to use in my art journal.
This is one of my favorite hand carved alphabet sets. The shadow is part of the stamp and just makes the letters pop off the page!
I was trying to make the "2015" look a bit like a chop.
This is a rejected print from my book, Carve Stamp Play. It was created by stamping three separate stamps on top of each other.
So that's where I am in my art journal right now. Just plodding along and hoping to keep up through the holidays!
